These small streams join together and flow down through valleys, forests, and farmlands before reaching the sea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mahaweli is the longest river, followed by Kelani, Kalu, Walawe, and Gin Ganga. Sri Lankan rivers are used for irrigation, hydroelectric power, and drinking water.
