Moon Plains view point is located at the edge of Central Province and Uva Province. A 360 degree view brings you a scenic panorama image. You can view Hakgala mountain range, Pidurutalaga mountain ranges.

Moon plains is located in cold environment with a strong breeze. Whole environment can be hidden in mist in a few minutes.
Above 6,000 ft of sea level, Moon plains is similar to the Horton Plains National Park.
Reaching Moon Plains
You can readily reach Moon Plains entrance gate by your car or by hiring a cab from Nuwaraeliya. If you are interested, you can also walk or can take the public transport. It is just 3 km away from Gregory lake to the moon plains entrance point.

It is just 20 minutes journey from Nuwaraeliya city. At entrance, you need to buy an entrance ticket to visit the Moon plains view point.
Moon Plains view point
You can visit the view point by your vehicle. So, you need to hire a cab to reach the view point. Hiring cost will be around Rs. 3,000.00 per trip and maximum 6 persons will be allowerd in a single vehicle.
It will take about 15-20 minutes to reach the view point from the entrance gate. You can spend about some time (20 minutes) in the view point and should ruturn back to the entrance gate.
